My Coaching career began in 2006 and I have been lucky to have had long and successful periods in a handful of roles to date.

I began my coaching career at Steep Lawn Tennis Club as part of CSTA (Courtside Sports Tennis Academy). It was here that I began to learn my trade as a coach, gaining valuable experience working with players of all ages and abilities in my home county, Hampshire. This experience was the best possible foundation I could have had for my career to come.

In 2009, I moved to Kingsley Tennis Centre, Hampshire, as Head of Performance. I was fortunate to be alongside a great group of players and parents that set about building a Performance Program from its infancy. The following years saw lots of fantastic moments and memories. There was lots of hard work on court, countless tournament trips around the country and abroad and this was capped off with some great achievements. This included several County Champions, American University Scholarships as well as ITF and ATP Rankings. I remain grateful to all coaches, players and parents at Kingsley Tennis Centre for all their hard work and commitment.

In 2012 I decided to embark on a new challenge at SotoTennis Academy, Spain. For the following 6 years I worked amongst a special group of people that poured their heart and soul into developing a world class environment. The aim of developing not just great Tennis players but great young people was something that I will take with me for the rest of my career. My time at SotoTennis allowed me develop personally and professionally by working with players and coaches from all over the world, travelling to international tournaments in over 20 countries and meeting a huge amount of fantastic people who share my love of this amazing sport. On court we had success with high numbers of players achieving Tennis Europe, ITF, ATP and WTA rankings, competing in Junior and Senior Grand Slams as well as some players representing their country in Davis/Fed Cup. However, more importantly, I was fortunate to have created so many memories and relationships with fellow members of the STA family.

In 2018 I returned back home to Hampshire. I have been enjoying the new challenge of starting Joe Dixon Tennis. I’m lucky to be predominantly based back where it all started at Steep Lawn Tennis Club, Petersfield. Despite spending the majority of my career in Performance Tennis, I truly believe that all levels of the game are of equal importance in order for Tennis to truly prosper. With that in mind, I’m looking forward to having a huge variety of work with anyone that has a love of the sport and a desire to improve. I can’t wait for this next chapter of my career.

Additionally, since returning to the UK I have also started a charity initiative called Support for Sport, this is aimed at providing Tennis Players and Coaches with access to mental health experts for those that have struggled with their mental wellbeing. This will remain a project I am passionate about and committed to for many years to come. Take a look at the link below for more information.

Thanks for taking the time to read a little of my story, get in touch if I can help in any way.
