Full Time Professional Player, SotoTennis Academy

I always looked at tennis as an opportunity to learn not only how to play and win, but also develop myself as a person. As a Tennis player there wasn’t a moment where I wasn’t enjoying myself on the court, but now playing professional tournaments definitely makes you feel like you are in real tennis. You play for earning money and trying to make a living from tennis and that’s an incredible opportunity for me, It becomes your job and a way of living your life. I was Top 50 in the world in Juniors, playing the biggest tournaments of our sport like Wimbledon, so I already had so many people that were hoping and expecting for me to make my move onto the next stage of our sport on pro level. However, that didn’t tend to happen. I started my professional career losing 8 consecutive first rounds and honestly that was tough. Even through all that I stayed humble enough and little by little I started to adjust some stuff in my game and I still do, whether that’s about my tactical game or my mental performance. Due to that I’m now feeling much more competitive on the court against the best players of our sport. It’s something that I used to struggle to do, when I made the transition from juniors to pro level. I’m currently 6th best player of Bulgaria and I’m enjoying my time on tour more than ever. Tennis has played a massive part in my life for become a better person off the court. It taught me how to fight and deal with different feelings on my own, taking ownership of myself is also something else that Tennis has given me and I’m still learning and improving a lot of things in my character as a player and a person!
